Travel Well, Get Returns: New Tax Deductions for 2025 and Techniques for Organizing Cost-Effective HR Events
- Published Date:
At the end of this year, the Revenue Department has introduced the “Travel Well, Get Returns 2025” measure to stimulate the tourism economy and domestic organizational development. Tax deductions are granted to both individuals and juristic persons for expenses related to travel, seminar organization, or hotel improvements from October 29 – December 15, 2025.
For individuals, expenses from domestic tourism such as accommodation, restaurants, or homestays that have full-format tax invoices (e-Tax Invoice) can be deducted up to 20,000 baht. If traveling to secondary tourism provinces (55 provinces) such as Lamphun, Nan, Trang, Buriram, or Samut Songkhram, they will receive a 1.5x deduction on actual expenses.
For businesses and organizations, tax deductions from organizing domestic training seminars (HR Events) are available up to 2x the actual expenses if held in secondary tourism provinces, or 1.5x for other areas. This includes expenses for travel, seminar rooms, speakers, and accommodation.
This is an opportunity for HR departments to use this measure to develop their organization while saving budget simultaneously, such as planning Corporate Retreats, Team Building, or HR Wellness Programs in secondary cities like Lampang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, or Suphan Buri, which stimulates local economies and boosts team morale perfectly.

Tips for HR and Accounting Departments: Manage Tax Documents Comprehensively in One System
One of the challenges for HR and accounting departments is storing tax documents such as tax invoices and e-Tax Invoices required for tax deduction filings.
Organizations can reduce complications by using an Integrated HR Payroll System with comprehensive digital document support functions, such as:
- HRIS Software Solutions that automatically store employee information, compensation, and tax documents
- Payroll programs that calculate salary expenses and withholding tax according to the law
- Time Attendance Solutions to check employee working hours during off-site seminar activities
- Payroll system software that can issue online payslips with e-Tax Files sent directly to the Revenue Department
Using digital HR systems like this not only reduces document burden but also helps organizations comply with Labor Protection Laws correctly and transparently, especially when there are training activities or travel to multiple locations nationwide.
Example of Planning HR Events Aligned with the Measure
Organize a 2-day employee seminar in Mueang Chiang Mai District and another day in Lampang Province
→ Can deduct expenses at 2x from the portion incurred in Lampang Province and 1.5x from the Chiang Mai portion
If you choose a hotel that has been renovated in 2025, you can also use tax rights under the “Hotel Accommodation Improvement Support” project
All of this shows that HR doesn’t just play a role in personnel management but is also an effective organizational tax and budget strategist.
How to Ensure HR Fully Utilizes the Rights
- Verify operators who issue e-Tax Invoices at etax.rd.go.th/ETAXSEARCH
- Store expense data and tax slips in the HRIS Software Solutions system
- Issue Payroll documents and tax invoices automatically with Payroll Software Thailand
- Organize employee training-seminars systematically with HR Payroll programs
The “Travel Well, Get Returns 2025” measure not only promotes tourism but is also a golden opportunity for HR and accounting departments to use digital systems to manage budgets and taxes cost-effectively.
Organizations planning training or seminars at the end of this year should verify the list of businesses that issue e-Tax Invoices at the Revenue Department and use the best HR Payroll programs so that every step — from booking accommodation to issuing tax documents — is complete, finished, accurate, and transparent.
